Croatia - Unions criticize outcome of public sector negotiations - February 28, 2026
Trade unions representing employees in the state and public services criticized the outcome of negotiations with the Government over wage increases for 2026. According to union representatives, the agreed pay adjustment amounts to three increases of about 1% each during the year, which unions say will not keep pace with inflation and rising living costs. They argue that the result means the real value of wages will decline and have called for renewed negotiations over the wage base and other material rights.
