Croatia - Stalemate over public sector collective agreement - January 31, 2026
Public service unions and the Government remained far apart in bargaining over the Basic Collective Agreement. Eleven unions met negotiators on 27 January but rejected the revised offer, which proposed a base increase to 1% from 1 April, an additional 1% from 1 August, and another 1% from 1 December 2026. Union leaders demanded a 3% increase in the base wage on 1 February and another 2% from 1 October, as well as € 50 for a hot meal from 1 June.
