Belgium - Strike at postal operator - April 30, 2026
Negotiations between management and unions at postal operator Bpost have broken down, with union representatives leaving the table, citing a “complete deadlock”. The talks focused on the company’s plan to shift working hours as part of a broader reorganisation aimed at strengthening its parcel operations. A follow-up negotiation meeting, planned for 27 April, did not take place. Industrial action against the proposal has been ongoing for more than two weeks, particularly in Wallonia. The VSOA Post union accused management of insisting that all schedules be pushed back by two hours. The CGSP Poste union said proposals from labour representatives had been ignored. In Wallonia, only around 12% of staff reported for work on 14 April.
