Belgium - Air traffic controllers strike - June 30, 2026

All departures and arrivals to and from Brussels and Charleroi airports were cancelled on 2 June due to an unannounced strike by air traffic controllers. The strike at Skeyes is linked to negotiations between management and trade unions over the new digital control center serving Charleroi and Liège's cargo airport. Staff would in future be based at the new digital air traffic control centre in Namur, but would remain responsible for their “own” airport.
