Austria - No agreement reached in tourism - May 31, 2026

On 29 May, the fourth round of talks on the collective agreement for employees in the hotel and restaurant industry between the vida union and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ) ended without a result. "It came down to a mere € 4 more for the lowest wage bracket. Despite a slight upward movement, the WKÖ was unwilling to budge on this," said the head of negotiations for the vida union. According to vida, the employers showed that they no longer have any interest in further constructive negotiations or a fair agreement.
