Austria - New collective agreement in the cosmetics, foot care, and massage sector - May 31, 2026

With a 5.1% wage increase effective 1 July 2026, employees in the foot care, cosmetics, and massage sectors have reached a significant collective agreement. Apprentices’ compensation will increase by an average of 3% starting in September 2026. The vida union particularly emphasizes that, for the first time, a starting wage of € 2,000 has been achieved for support staff as well. For the union, the agreement demonstrates that fair wage increases are possible despite economic uncertainties – and that the often-invoked crisis rhetoric of many employers is not without alternatives.
