Austria - Metalworkers’ agreement confirmed - September 30, 2026
Unions and employers in the metal industry have confirmed the second stage of the two-year collective agreement they signed in 2025. From 2026/27, collectively agreed minimum wages rise by 2.1% and actual wages by 1.9%. Rolling inflation over the previous twelve months, which serves as the basis for bargaining, was 3.3%. From 1 November, the minimum wage in the sector will be € 2,622 gross per month. Apprentices’ pay and allowances also rise by 2.1%, and night and third-shift premiums go up by 7.01% to € 3.75 an hour. The agreement covers all 190,000 employees across the six metal industry trade associations.
