Austria - Agreement for Red Cross - February 28, 2026
An agreement was reached in the fourth round of negotiations for the collective agreement for Red Cross employees. In addition to wage and salary increases, key improvements to the framework agreement were also achieved. For paramedics, prior military service will now be credited if relevant prior service has been completed. Children with disabilities who receive increased family allowance are now entitled to an additional week of care leave from the age of 12. The eligibility requirements for adjustments due to overtime have been significantly improved: instead of the previous 12 months, 6 months will now suffice. The legal entitlement to phased retirement has been renegotiated and secured in the collective agreement.
