Austria - 2.6% pay increase for employees of charitable organizations - February 28, 2026
After three intensive and constructive rounds of negotiations, the new collective agreement for employees in the non-profit charitable sector has been finalized. For more than 17,000 employees at over 40 organizations, the agreement brings real income improvements and significant progress in the framework agreement. A 2.6% salary increase will take effect on 1 April 2026 for collectively agreed salaries, allowances, and bonuses. A minimum increase of 2.3% will take effect on 1 January 2027, depending on inflation. The care allowance of € 135.50 gross per full-time month will be continued for two years. The agreement also includes more rights regarding care leave, crediting of prior service, and for apprentices. A new salary grade will be introduced in 2027 for long-term employees (an additional biennial increase).
