Switzerland - Health workers protest - November 30, 2025
Thousands of health-care workers and supporters rallied on Bern’s Federal Square, demanding safe staffing levels, improved working conditions, and full implementation of the 2021 care initiative, as Unia and other unions warned the sector is sliding deeper into crisis. The national demonstration, held under the banner “Couverture en soins: la santé, c’est nous, pour vous” (“Care coverage: we are health, for you”), was organized by the Alliance of Health Professions and drew both health workers and allies. Unions criticized the draft federal law on nursing working conditions, expected to be debated in December, saying it does not provide the staffing reinforcements or financing required to fulfil the initiative voters approved.
