Slovenia - Employers withdraw from tripartite body - November 30, 2025
Employers’ organisations announced their withdrawal from the national tripartite Economic and Social Council (ESS) in protest of alleged Government breaches of the rules governing the body’s functioning. The exit underscores a growing strain in the country’s social-dialogue framework, raising concerns that collective bargaining and negotiated wage growth may suffer without a working tripartite platform. According to union confederation ZSSS, the allegations of procedural violations are just a convenient excuse, but in reality it is an opposition to the content – the introduction of a winter allowance (the so-called Christmas bonus).
