Serbia - Injustice towards preschool employees adjusted - December 31, 2025

Union confederation SSSS reported a pay‑policy change for preschool employees that it framed as a union win achieved through sustained pressure. Amendments to the regulation on salary coefficients in public services will increase coefficients for all staff in preschool institutions from January 2026, correcting what the union called discriminatory exclusion when other education groups received coefficient uplifts earlier in 2025. The preschool union said it pressed the authorities with arguments and mobilisation until the change was accepted.
