Norway - New main agreement for municipalities - December 31, 2025

The Confederation of Norwegian Trade Unions (YS) concluded a new main agreement for the municipality (KS) area, that gives shop stewards on rotation the right to a new day off when training falls on the statutory day off. It has long been an important demand for YS union to improve the conditions for shop stewards who work on rotation. The main agreement regulates the cooperation between employers and shop stewards. The new main agreement for the KS area is valid from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2029.
