Malta - Teachers’ union declares dispute with Government - November 30, 2025
The Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) declared a dispute with the Government regarding the negotiation of a new collective agreement covering lecturers at the University of Malta Junior College. The previous agreement expired in December 2023, and despite financial proposals tabled by the union in early summer, the Government has not formally responded. The union states that the wellbeing and working conditions of the lecturers are not being prioritised and announced that following a meeting with members they may order industrial action if the Government fails to engage.
