LANV union reflects on the results of the 2026 wage round. Uncertainties stemming from geopolitical conflicts, trade disputes, and exchange rate risks dampened the results. The introduction of paid parental and paternity leave also shaped the negotiations. There are concerns that a particularly large number of employees will claim these benefits in 2026 to avoid losing retroactive entitlements. Therefore, negotiating points — such as the reduction of weekly working hours — were postponed until 2027. Despite these challenges, the talks were constructive and conducted on equal terms.
