Ireland - ICT workers vote for strike - December 31, 2025
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) workers in local authorities across the country have voted to take industrial action after a union ballot on work recognition held by Forsa. The ballot saw an 86% turnout, with 98.4% of those voting backing the proposal to proceed with action as part of a campaign for better recognition of ICT roles. The union’s campaign highlights that ICT work in local government has increased in complexity and scale, while pay and grading have not kept pace with changes in job scope.
