Hungary - Union ultimatum for municipality - November 30, 2025
On 13 November 2025, a unified front of trade unions issued an ultimatum to the central Government and the municipal leadership of Budapest. They demanded renewed talks on the city’s financial crisis and its impact on some 27,000 municipal workers. The unions said they were willing to negotiate but warned that a failure to respond could lead to broad disruption, including strike measures. Both the Government and the city administration acknowledged the urgency, but no formal deal had been concluded at that date.
