Greece - Tripartite agreement to restore collective bargaining rights - November 30, 2025
The Government announced a landmark tripartite agreement to restore collective bargaining rights. The deal between the GSEE (General Confederation of Greek Workers), employers’ associations and the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance moves to end “memorandum-era” restrictions and expands the reach of collective agreements. Among the key changes: the required workforce coverage threshold for extending a collective agreement drops from 50% to 40%, and full post-expiry protection of terms is reinstated. The initiative is described as “historical” by the minister, signalling a major shift in industrial relations for 2026 and beyond.
