Germany - More pay for metalworkers - December 31, 2025
Union IG Metall Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt and the Saxony-Anhalt Metalworkers' Association have reached a collective agreement for employees in the metalworking trades in Saxony-Anhalt. Effective 1 January 2026, wages in all pay grades will increase by € 0.40 per hour. Six months later, on 1 July 2026, a further increase of € 0.25 per hour will follow. This will result in wage increases of 4.66% in pay grade 1, 4.2% in the standard pay grade, and 2.5% in pay grade 8. Apprenticeship allowances will increase by € 30 in the first and second years of training, and by € 50 in the third and fourth years, effective 1 January 2026. The collective agreement has a term of 12 months, expiring on 31 December 2026.
