Germany - Higher pay for housing industry employees - November 30, 2025
The unions ver.di and IG BAU have reached a new collective agreement with the German Real Estate Employers' Association for the approximately 63,000 employees in the housing industry. After months of negotiations, there are now clear improvements in salaries and training allowances. Starting 1 January 2026, salaries will increase by 3.1%. A further increase of 2.3% will follow on 1 February 2027. In addition, all employees and trainees will receive a one-off payment of €100 on 1 January 2026. Trainees will particularly benefit: their compensation will increase disproportionately. Starting in January 2026, they will receive €60 more per month, and another €50 starting in February 2027. The new collective agreement is valid for 26 months – from 1 November 2025, to 31 December 2027.
