Germany - Agreement for calcium silicate brick Industry - December 31, 2025
On 4 December 2025, the IG BAU union reached a compromise with the employers’ association in the calcium silicate brick industry that establishes stable collective bargaining conditions for employees. After a difficult negotiation phase marked by revenue losses, short-time work, and economic uncertainty, both sides were able to find a solution. The agreed wage increases will take effect in 2026 in two stages: from 1 January 2026: increase of the standard wage by 2.4%; from 1 October 2026: further increase by 2.75%. The collective agreement has a term of 24 months. The salary increases are included in the average calculation of the annual bonus.
