France - Agreement on dismissals at steel company - November 30, 2025
The management of steel company ArcelorMittal France and two unions, the CFDT and the CFE-CGC, signed a majority agreement regarding support measures for employees affected by the restructuring plan to cut 608 positions. The group had announced in April the elimination of 608 positions, representing 378 jobs, primarily due to pre-existing vacancies. This figure has now been reduced to 260 jobs but may still change as a result of the agreement. The agreement provides for "re-employment leave of up to 18 months" for employees "furthest from the job market," according to management.
