Finland - Intensive negotiations on private social services sector - November 30, 2025
Negotiations on the new collective agreement for the private social services sector go on for the remainder of the year. The goal of union JHL is to have the new agreement settled before the agreement period ends and to secure that the new agreement becomes effective at the beginning of 2026. Negotiation have been scheduled until the end of the year, and as the turn of the year approaches, the negotiators meet increasingly often. JHL notes that negotiations have shifted from textual issues to more substantive pay and employment-terms discussions. The union highlights challenges such as staffing pressures, retention, and attracting new workers in the welfare sector as key negotiation themes beyond purely wage increases.
