EU Sources - Expansion of collective bargaining beyond wages - December 31, 2025
Eurofound published new research analysing collective agreements in low-paid sectors across several EU countries. The study showed that collective bargaining increasingly addresses issues beyond base pay, including training, work organisation, working time and career development. According to Eurofound, this reflects an evolution in social dialogue, with unions and employers using collective agreements to improve overall job quality. The findings were discussed in EU policy circles as part of broader efforts to modernise labour relations and strengthen collective bargaining coverage.
