Denmark - Union hails verdict European Court - November 30, 2025
Union confederation Fagbevægelsens Hovedorganisation (FH) has hailed the recent verdict of the European Court of Justice, delivered 11 November 2025, as a “major victory” for the Danish collective bargaining model. The ruling found that parts of the EU Minimum Wage Directive exceed EU competence, reinforcing that wage-setting in the country must remain primarily in the hands of social partners. FH emphasises that this outcome strengthens the role of unions and employer organisations in maintaining the country’s traditional model of tripartite dialogue.
