Czechia - Unions demand higher public service pay - December 31, 2025
Public service wages are set to increase from February 2026, following Government announcements on adjustments to pay in state administration and local government. The plans come amid ongoing negotiations with trade unions over the scale and structure of the increases. In negotiations with the Government, public service unions coordinated at national level, including OSSOO and ČMKOS, are demanding a 9% pay increase for the lowest-paid groups, alongside the same increase across the civil service pay scale. Unions argue that this is necessary to address continued real-terms pay erosion and widening gaps within public sector wage structures.
