The Federal Minister of Employment therefore came up with a mediation proposal in mid-May and asked the social partners to put their heads together on this by 7 June. That social consultation has now fallen through, the unions report. They specifically wanted to reach an agreement on a framework for negotiating at sectoral level on the increase of the maximum contribution for meal vouchers. The coalition agreement stipulates that this must be increased twice by € 2 in the current legislature. In addition, the unions also want to make one-off premiums possible.
