The strike was called by the trade unions ABVV-FGTB, ACV-CSC and CGSLB-ACLVB. Among the measures the unions are denouncing are policies affecting pensions, unemployment benefits, and wages. The unions denounced the Government’s social policies as unfair and harmful to working people. They also criticised the lack of social dialogue and called for investment in quality jobs, decent pensions, and strong public services.
