It caused disruptions across the entire country as flights were cancelled, public transport was disrupted, and employees took to the streets to denounce the new Federal Government's budget cuts, mostly concerning pensions. The unions called on employees in all sectors to strike and organise actions. Several teachers' unions took part in the strike, while picket lines blocked access to business parks across the country.
