According to the Mediation Institute (Medlingsinstitutet), wages are growing more than twice as fast as consumer prices, including housing interest costs. Preliminary figures show that wages in the private sector increased by 3.9%, while they increased by 3.3% in the public sector. Inflation was only 1.1% in September according to Statistics Sweden. This means that real wages increased by as much as 2.8% compared to last year.
