Slovakia - Real wages increase in 2023 - February 29, 2024

In 2023, the average wage increased year-on-year in all ten monitored sectors. In seven even at a double-digit rate. In six sectors, wages increased more strongly than inflation. Year-on-year, the average nominal monthly wage increased in all monitored sectors. The most significant growth was recorded in food and beverage services by 15.1% (€ 724), the lowest in construction (€ 1,064) and transportation and storage (€ 1,415) – both by 7%. In December 2023, real wages in all monitored sectors were higher year-on-year. Their growth ranged from 1% in transportation and storage to 8.7% in food and beverage service activities.
