The decision on the increase was made in agreement with unions and employers, the prime minister said in a statement. The Government had initially proposed an 8%-10% increase. The prime minister also noted the minimum wage for the first time covers the cost of the minimum consumer basket. Representatives of the union Nezavisnost and the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia emphasised the decision was reached by consensus.
