This planned action is part of a series of strikes in the second week of September. Both trade unions want to make a clear statement to the Government and the employers' organization VNO-NCW. In the 2019, employers, employees and the Government agreed that a structural solution had to be found to enable workers with heavy work to retire early. However, the current scheme will be abolished as of January 1, 2025. The Government has not yet decided to extend it.
