Malta - Talks on teachers’ pay - January 31, 2024

Talks between the Ministry of Education and the Malta Union of Teachers, MUT, on a collective agreement for educators are continuing. The talks have been going on for weeks, with the MUT having called a one-day strike on 27 November 2023, insisting that the government should live up to its election promise to give teachers a ‘substantial’ pay rise.
