A remarkable step was the reduction of working hours in ten sectors by half an hour to one hour per week. This means, that the employees affected will receive wage increases of 1.2 to 2.3%. In addition, there are 17 wage increases of up to 2.5% as well as various increases in minimum wages and vacation. Wages have risen by an average of 2.4% this year. With inflation of 2.1% in 2023, wage growth is above inflation. The wage increases in the generally binding collective agreements came into force on 1 April.
