The head of the Association of Local Authorities’ Negotiating Committee, expressed little optimism for an agreement, citing large gaps between the parties, particularly over salary demands. The Icelandic Teachers’ Union was acquitted by the Labour Court of charges related to the legality of their strike announcement. The parties held a meeting after the ruling but no agreement was reached.
