Thousands of public and private sector workers joined a 24-hour strike organised by the General Confederation of Greek Workers and the Civil Servants' Confederation, demanding better wages and working conditions. Among other demands, the strikers called for stable work contracts with proper rights, wage increases, a minimum wage of € 950 and a 20% increase in pay for civil servants. Staff at public hospitals, the Greek Dental Federation, public and private schools and judicial bodies joined the strike.
