Germany - Warning strikes at telecom company - April 30, 2024
On the occasion of the second round of negotiations for a collective agreement for the staff of telecom company Deutsche Telekom, the trade union ver.di called for a strike in which 12,000 workers nationwide took part. In order to emphasize its demands, the union intends to expand its warning strikes. ver.di is demanding a wage increase of 12% for the around 70,000 employees nationwide, but at least by € 400 per month, with a term of the collective agreement of 12 months. The training allowances and the salaries of dual students are to be increased by € 185 per month. In the third round of collective bargaining on 29 and 30 April, ver.di and the employers did not achieve a result. The offer submitted by the employers is still below the union demands.
