The salary in the DA area (covered Dansk Arbejdsgiverforening, the main employers’ association in the private sector) increased by 5.0% in the first quarter of 2024, which is slightly below the expected level. The real wage increased by 4.0%, due to low inflation of 1.0%. However, the actual salary development is still below the agreed cost increases in the collective agreements. This represents a slight increase of 0.1 percentage points compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. Wage developments varied among the different sectors. White-collar workers experienced a wage increase of 4.3%, which is an increase of 0.2 percentage points from the previous quarter.
