Inflation is well above the official 5% target and touched a 24-year peak of 85.5% in October, prompting the government to\u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.reuters.com\u002Fmarkets\u002Fturkey-raises-monthly-minimum-wage-by-50-2023-2022-12-22\u002F\"> raise the minimum wage \u003C\u002Fa>by 100% over the course of last year. The Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions (DİSK), which is not part of the committee that determines the minimum wage, conducted a press conference to express their concerns.
