For the first time, the so- called tripartite commission, which is responsible for sectors without a generally binding collective agreement, has now checked wages in the catering industry. Salaries were too low in nine companies. According to LANV, ‘The companies complained about being paid up to 15% below the intervention limit’. The salary was also well below the salary of CHF 3,400 (€3,532) to CHF 4,150 (€4,311) that was customary for the location and the industry and for a normal weekly working time of 43 to 45 hours, as determined by the commission.

Read on: in German.

For more information, please contact Paul de Beer or Oana Ciuca, De Burcht (Scientific Bureau for the Dutch Trade Union Movement) p.t.debeer@uva.nl or the Head of communications at the ETUI, Mehmet Koksal mkoksal@etui.org.
