Trade union Verdi wants to rule out redundancies. In Germany alone, the union fears the loss of 7,000 full-time jobs at the bank. Operational dismissals would have to be excluded according to the union. In some areas, such as IT, the bank could increase staff at the same time, so that the overall reduction could be less.
