The proposal also aims at promoting collective bargaining on wages in all Member States. The Commission's proposal will now go to the European Parliament and Council for approval. Once adopted, Member States will have two years to transpose the directive into national law. The ETUC welcomes the proposal as ‘a positive step’ but sees the need for improvements.
