It came out on top of an EU ranking, with workers clocking up 44 euro an hour of pay and benefits in 2016 on average. It was also far above the EU average of 23 euro per hour. The latest figures from the European Union’s statistical office Eurostat include wages, salaries and employer’s social contributions.
