The unions were demanding a pay rise of 6% over two years while the employers were offering a pay rise of 3.2%. With the new agreement the hourly wages of construction workers will increase by at least 30 cents in 2018 and 2019. Furthermore, minimum wages in the sector will be raised by 40 cents in both 2018 and 2019.
