One key feature in the deal, which includes some 20 measures, is the reform of unemployment benefit payments. During the first six months that workers are unemployed, they will receive a higher level of unemployment benefit than is currently the case. After six months the level of unemployment benefit paid will fall more rapidly that up to now. The package led to divergent reactions.
