The law was one of Renzi’s flagships in his attempt to revive the economy. The law scrapped a rule that gave terminated workers from large private sector companies the right to be re-hired if a court established that the termination was unjustified. Big businesses as well as the bond market appeared to welcome the Constitutional Court’s decision.
