The CGT is against the closure because it says it would result in job losses. The union said in a statement that the Fessenheim plant is safe, and it is recognised as such by the Nuclear Safety Authority, adding that the plant contributes to the country’s energy security. The union urged its members to picket the headquarters of the company during the board meeting to keep pressure on the board members.
