Mid-2015, the government launched a pilot programme to attract foreigners, primarily from Ukraine, by speeding up the visa application process. The emphasis was originally on skilled jobs such as IT; it turns out that what some companies need more is to fill vacancies for manual and factory jobs. Firms are putting pressure on the government to take steps to ease the procedure.
