The workers, organised by garment union Deretiks, started fighting for labour rights at the Ismaco plant, a supplier to top Italian brand Ermenegildo Zegna in 2012. After a long battle, the union was finally recognised early 2015 and received ministerial authorisation to start collective negotiations in June.
